Bernie Williams Leads M and H Lumber Company Past Massapequa Mafia 10-6 to stop 6 game losing streak.

Bernie Williams collected three hits in five at bats, as M and H Lumber Company defeated Massapequa Mafia 10-6 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Williams doubled in the eighth inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.


A single by Joe Girardi put M and H Lumber Company on the board in the bottom of the second.


A home run to center field by Jeff Kent gave Massapequa Mafia the lead, 3-2, in the top of the third.


M and H Lumber Company captured the lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the third after Edgar Martinez singled to center field, Richie Sexson grounded into a fielder's choice, and Enrique Wilson singled to right field, each scoring one run.


Massapequa Mafia scored two runs in the top of the sixth on a home run to center field by Carl Everett.


Orlando Hernandez earned the win for M and H Lumber Company. The pitcher surrendered four hits and six runs (five earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking four. Andy Pettitte took the loss for Massapequa Mafia. The pitcher went seven innings, surrendering 10 runs on 14 hits, striking out four and walking three. Trevor Hoffman collected the save.


M and H Lumber Company accumulated 15 hits in the game. Jose Offerman and Williams were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for M and H Lumber Company while hitting back-to-back. Martinez, Girardi, and Williams each drove in two runs for M and H Lumber Company. Todd Helton and Wilson each collected multiple hits for M and H Lumber Company. Offerman stole three bases. M and H Lumber Company turned two double plays in the game.


Kent went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Mo Vaughn, Frank Thomas, Dante Bichette, Dimitri Young, Everett, and Kent each collected one hit for Massapequa Mafia. Massapequa Mafia turned one double play in the game. Massapequa Mafia were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Javy Lopez had the most chances in the field with five.
