Darren Dreifort Slices Through Scorpions As Kelly Leak Allstars Stay Hot and Shut Out Scorpions

Darren Dreifort shut down Scorpions, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Kelly Leak Allstars to an 8-0 victory on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746.


Kelly Leak Allstars scored seven runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Craig Biggio singled, scoring two runs, Manny Ramirez singled, scoring one run, Mark McGwire doubled, scoring two runs, and Mike Stanley homered to left field, scoring two runs.


Kelly Leak Allstars opened the scoring in the second after an error scored one run.


Randy Johnson started on the mound for Scorpions. The southpaw gave up seven hits and eight runs (seven earned) over nine innings, striking out 15 and walking five.


McGwire and Stanley were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Kelly Leak Allstars while hitting back-to-back. Biggio, McGwire, and Stanley each drove in two runs for Kelly Leak Allstars. Kelly Leak Allstars turned two double plays in the game.


Number nine hitter, Gerald Williams, showed the depth of Scorpions's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Johnson threw an immaculate inning in the third, striking out the side on nine pitches.
