Disco Turkeys Beat M and H Lumber Company 8-4

Disco Turkeys were triumphant over M and H Lumber Company 8-4 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746.


Disco Turkeys were the first to get on the board in the first when one run scored on another play.


M and H Lumber Company took the lead in the bottom of the first. Edgar Martinez singled, scoring two runs, to give M and H Lumber Company the leg up, 2-1.


Fernando Tatis singled to right field, which helped Disco Turkeys tie the game at two in the top of the second.


Disco Turkeys flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 7-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Alex Rodriguez that drove in three.


Ramiro Mendoza earned the win for Disco Turkeys. The righty allowed seven hits and four runs over eight innings, striking out three and walking two. Al Leiter took the loss for M and H Lumber Company. The hurler went seven innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking two. Mike Maddux pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Disco Turkeys in relief. The reliever gave up one hit, striking out none and walking none.


Disco Turkeys accumulated 12 hits in the game. Rodriguez provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Disco Turkeys with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-5 on the day. Mark Grace went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Disco Turkeys in hits. Disco Turkeys were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Mike Piazza had the most chances in the field with three.


Martinez provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led M and H Lumber Company with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Todd Helton led M and H Lumber Company with three hits in four at bats. Leiter threw an immaculate inning in the sixth, striking out the side on nine pitches. M and H Lumber Company turned one double play in the game. M and H Lumber Company didn't commit a single error in the field. Ivan Rodriguez had the most chances in the field with nine.
