Disco Turkeys defeated M and H Lumber Company 10-1 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746 thanks in part to seven runs in the second inning. Johnny Damon doubled, scoring two runs, Mark Grace hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Scott Rolen doubled, scoring one run, and Eddie Perez homered to center field, scoring three runs.
Disco Turkeys got on the board in the first inning after Alex Rodriguez homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Chuck Finley stepped on the hill first for Disco Turkeys. The southpaw gave up five hits and one run over nine innings, striking out three and walking four. Orlando Hernandez started on the bump for M and H Lumber Company. The pitcher allowed six hits and nine runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three.
Disco Turkeys amassed 10 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Damon led Disco Turkeys with four hits in four at bats. Perez went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Disco Turkeys turned one double play in the game.
Rickey Henderson, Vinny Castilla, Ivan Rodriguez, Rafael Palmeiro, and Vlad Guerrero each collected one hit for M and H Lumber Company. Guerrero led M and H Lumber Company with one run batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-4 on the day.
