Disco Turkeys Trot It Off for Series and Season Series Win Against Scorpions

It came down to the wire on Saturday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746, as Disco Turkeys grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 6-5, over Scorpions. Disco Turkeys were down 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning when Eddie Perez doubled, scoring two runs.
Scott Rolen homered in the third and seventh innings. Rolen hit two home runs in the victory.
A single by Mike Piazza put Disco Turkeys on the board in the bottom of the first.
Scorpions tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a tag up by Jose Offerman, and a walk by Nomar Garciaparra.
A solo home run to right field by Rolen gave Disco Turkeys the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third.
Paul O’Neill scored after tagging up, which helped Scorpions tie the game at three in the top of the fifth.
A solo home run to center field by Rolen gave Disco Turkeys the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh.
A single by Glenallen Hill gave Scorpions the lead, 5-4, in the top of the eighth.
Chuck Finley led things off on the hill for Disco Turkeys. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking nine. Ramon Martinez started the game for Scorpions. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over five and one-third innings, striking out six and walking seven. Robb Nen appeared in relief for Disco Turkeys.
Disco Turkeys piled up nine hits in the game. Piazza went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Disco Turkeys in hits. Rusty Greer paced Disco Turkeys with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Disco Turkeys turned two double plays in the game. Disco Turkeys were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Perez made the most plays with 10.
Scorpions accumulated 10 hits in the game. Hill provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Scorpions with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Offerman led Scorpions with three hits in five at bats from the leadoff position. Scorpions had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Garciaparra and Edgar Martinez led the team with two free passes each. Offerman stole two bases. Scorpions turned one double play in the game.
