Eddie Perez’s Clutch Hitting Propels Disco Turkeys To Victory and Sweep Over M and H Lumber Company

Eddie Perez drove in five runs on two hits to lead Disco Turkeys past M and H Lumber Company 12-10 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Perez hit a home run to center field in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the ninth inning, scoring two.


Bats blistered as Disco Turkeys collected 15 hits and M and H Lumber Company tallied 12 in the high-scoring game.


Disco Turkeys opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to two home runs. Disco Turkeys first got on the board when Scott Rolen hit a solo home run to center field.


Mike Piazza homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the third for the Disco Turkeys.


Perez homered to center field, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth for the Disco Turkeys.


M and H Lumber Company scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to center field by Vinny Castilla.


M and H Lumber Company scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by Bernie Williams.


M and H Lumber Company tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a sacrifice fly by Todd Helton, a double by Castilla, and a single by Edgar Martinez.


In the top of the ninth, Disco Turkeys broke up the tie when Alex Rodriguez hit a solo home run to center field. Then a double by Perez followed to extend the lead to 12-9.


Chuck Finley started on the bump for Disco Turkeys. The pitcher allowed 10 hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking three. Jamie Moyer began the game for M and H Lumber Company. The hurler gave up eight hits and seven runs over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Robb Nen appeared in relief for Disco Turkeys.


Disco Turkeys piled up 15 hits in the game. Rodriguez, Rolen, Chad Curtis, Mickey Morandini, Piazza, and Perez each collected two hits for Disco Turkeys. Disco Turkeys turned one double play in the game. Disco Turkeys were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Perez had the most chances in the field with eight.


M and H Lumber Company piled up 12 hits in the game. Williams went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Castilla went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead M and H Lumber Company in hits. Enrique Wilson and Kenny Lofton each collected multiple hits for M and H Lumber Company.




Disco Turkeys will travel to Kelly Leak Allstars for their next game on Tuesday.
