Escobar Impressive As Kelly Leak Allstars Avoid Sweep,Beat M and H Lumber Company 3-2




Both teams were strong on the bump on Tuesday, but Kelly Leak Allstars defeated M and H Lumber Company 3-2. Kelvim Escobar started the game for Kelly Leak Allstars and recorded 21 outs.


Kelly Leak Allstars got on the board in the top of the second inning after Tom Goodwin singled to right field, Omar Vizquel walked, and Craig Biggio was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.


M and H Lumber Company scored one run in the bottom of the ninth on a solo home run to center field by Rafael Palmeiro.


Escobar started the game for Kelly Leak Allstars. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Orlando Hernandez opened the game for M and H Lumber Company. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and three runs (zero earned) over seven and one-third innings, striking out 13 and walking four. Doug Brocail appeared in relief for Kelly Leak Allstars.


Mark McGwire and Goodwin each collected one hit for Kelly Leak Allstars. Biggio, Vizquel, and Goodwin each drove in one run for Kelly Leak Allstars.


Juan Encarnacion, Vinny Castilla, Roberto Alomar, Palmeiro, and Edgar Renteria each collected one hit for M and H Lumber Company. Palmeiro and Renteria each drove in one run for M and H Lumber Company. M and H Lumber Company turned one double play in the game.
