Javy Lopez and Bottom Of The Lineup Carries Massapequa Mafia Past M and H Lumber Company 8-2

The bottom of the lineup helped Massapequa Mafia capture an 8-2 victory over M and H Lumber Company on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Jay Bell, Javy Lopez, and Travis Fryman combined for seven of the team's 11 hits in the victory. They scored three runs and drove in four.


Lopez collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Lopez hit a solo home run to center field in the fourth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the second inning.


M and H Lumber Company were the first to get on the board in the first when Edgar Martinez singled, scoring one run.


Massapequa Mafia captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first when Sammy Sosa hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Mo Vaughn homered to center field, scoring two runs.


Massapequa Mafia scored one run in the bottom of the third on a solo home run to center field by Dante Bichette.


Lopez hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth for the Massapequa Mafia.


Tom Glavine started the game for Massapequa Mafia. The hurler surrendered 11 hits and two runs over nine innings, striking out five and walking two. David Cone led things off on the mound for M and H Lumber Company. The starter gave up 11 hits and eight runs (five earned) over seven and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking two.


Massapequa Mafia piled up 11 hits in the game. Lopez and Fryman were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Massapequa Mafia while hitting back-to-back. Bichette collected two hits for Massapequa Mafia in four at bats. Massapequa Mafia turned one double play in the game. Massapequa Mafia didn't commit a single error in the field. Lopez had the most chances in the field with six.


M and H Lumber Company amassed 11 hits in the game. Martinez, Jose Offerman, and Vinny Castilla each collected two hits for M and H Lumber Company. Martinez and Todd Helton each drove in one run for M and H Lumber Company. M and H Lumber Company turned two double plays in the game.
