Jeff Bagwell Powers Sledgehammers Past Disco Turkeys for Second Straight Win 4-3 with 10th inning Homer.

Jeff Bagwell hit two home runs and drove in three as Sledgehammers defeated Disco Turkeys 4-3 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Bagwell homered in the fifth and tenth innings.
Sledgehammers didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at three in the top of the tenth when Bagwell hit a solo home run to right field.
Disco Turkeys opened the scoring in the third after Mark Grace singled, scoring two runs.
Bagwell homered to right field, which helped Sledgehammers tie the game at two in the top of the fifth.
A single by Marvin Benard gave Disco Turkeys the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the fifth.
Barry Larkin tripled to right field, which helped Sledgehammers tie the game at three in the top of the seventh.
Curt Schilling stepped on the hill first for Sledgehammers. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over eight and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking six. Terry Mulholland started the game for Disco Turkeys. The left-handed pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out two and walking four. John Wetteland threw one and two-thirds innings of shutout ball for Sledgehammers in relief. The righty gave up one hit, striking out none and walking none.
Sledgehammers accumulated nine hits in the game. Bagwell, Ken Griffey Jr, and Larkin each collected two hits for Sledgehammers. Sledgehammers turned one double play in the game. Sledgehammers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Brad Ausmus had the most chances in the field with four.
Grace provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Disco Turkeys with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Benard led Disco Turkeys with two hits in five at bats. Grace paced Disco Turkeys with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Disco Turkeys turned two double plays in the game. Disco Turkeys didn't commit a single error in the field. Eddie Perez had the most chances in the field with eight.
