Johnson Impressive As Scorpions Stiffle M and H Lumber Company

Both teams were strong on the bump on Tuesday, but Scorpions defeated M and H Lumber Company 2-1. Randy Johnson started the game for Scorpions and recorded 21 outs.
M and H Lumber Company got on the board in the third inning after Bernie Williams doubled, scoring one run.
Jeff Cirillo homered to center field, which helped Scorpions tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
A fielder's choice by Todd Helton gave Scorpions the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fifth.
Johnson earned the win for Scorpions. The pitcher allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Jamie Moyer took the loss for M and H Lumber Company. The starter went seven innings, surrendering two runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking four. Tom Gordon collected the save. Graeme Lloyd pitched one and two-thirds innings of no-run ball for Scorpions in relief. The lefty allowed one hit, striking out three and walking one.
Scorpions collected 11 hits in the game. Gerald Williams, Cirillo, and Orlando Cabrera each collected two hits for Scorpions. Cirillo and Helton were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Scorpions. Scorpions were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Helton made the most plays with 10.
Rickey Henderson led M and H Lumber Company with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Williams led M and H Lumber Company with one run batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-4 on the day. M and H Lumber Company turned one double play in the game.
