Jorge Posada’s Big Day Stops Scorpions 4 Game Slide In Win Over Disco Turkeys

Jorge Posada drove in four runs on two hits to lead Scorpions past Disco Turkeys 5-0 on Thursday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Posada hit a home run to center field in the third inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring two.


Juan Acevedo started things off strong for Scorpions as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Scorpions's pitchers walked two on the way to victory.


A home run to center field by Posada put Scorpions on the board in the bottom of the third.


Acevedo opened the game for Scorpions. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Chuck Finley opened the game for Disco Turkeys. The left-handed pitcher gave up five hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking three. Tom Gordon, Chad Bradford, and Graeme Lloyd each came on in relief for Scorpions and shutdown Disco Turkeys.


Glenallen Hill and Posada were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Scorpions. Scorpions turned one double play in the game. Scorpions were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Rafael Palmeiro made the most plays with 10.


Scott Rolen and Johnny Damon each collected two hits for Disco Turkeys. Disco Turkeys turned three double plays in the game.




Next up for Scorpions is a game at Suffolk Suns on Tuesday.
