Just When They Thought They Were Out The Mafia Pull Off A 7-5 Win Over Suns.

It came down to the wire on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746, as Massapequa Mafia grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 7-5, over Suffolk Suns. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the eleventh when Jeff Kent homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Kent homered in the eleventh and ninth innings. Kent hit two home runs in the victory.

A solo home run to right field by Carlos Delgado put Suffolk Suns on the board in the top of the second.

Travis Fryman hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Massapequa Mafia tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

Massapequa Mafia took the lead in the bottom of the third. Ray Lankford hit a solo home run to right field, to give Massapequa Mafia the advantage, 2-1.

In the top of the fourth inning, Suffolk Suns went back into the lead after Darryl Hamilton tripled to right field, and David Justice singled to right field, each scoring one run.

Suffolk Suns scored two runs in the top of the sixth on a home run to center field by Hamilton.

Kent homered to left field, which helped Massapequa Mafia tie the game at five in the bottom of the ninth.

Pedro Martinez led things off on the mound for Massapequa Mafia. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and five runs over nine innings, striking out 10 and walking two. David Wells opened the game for Suffolk Suns. The hurler allowed seven hits and four runs (three earned) over eight innings, striking out four and walking two. Kerry Litenberg and Mike Jackson each came on in relief for Massapequa Mafia and shutdown Suffolk Suns.

Massapequa Mafia collected 10 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Lankford led Massapequa Mafia with three hits in five at bats. Dante Bichette collected two hits for Massapequa Mafia in five at bats. Massapequa Mafia turned one double play in the game.

Suffolk Suns tallied 11 hits in the game. Hamilton led Suffolk Suns with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Delgado went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Suffolk Suns in hits. Suffolk Suns turned three double plays in the game.
