M and H Lumber Company defeated Kelly Leak Allstars 2-0 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746 as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Trevor Hoffman, Jim Mecir, and Jamie Moyer each pitched for M and H Lumber Company in the game. Hoffman struck out Eric Davis to get the last out.
Both teams were strong on the mound. M and H Lumber Company pitchers struck out eight, while Kelly Leak Allstars sat down eight.
M and H Lumber Company opened the scoring in the third after Roberto Alomar singled, scoring one run.
Moyer earned the win for M and H Lumber Company. The starter surrendered four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking two. Darren Dreifort took the loss for Kelly Leak Allstars. The starting pitcher went seven innings, surrendering two runs on eight hits, striking out eight and walking none. Hoffman collected the save. Ivan Rodriguez, Kenny Lofton, and Rafael Palmeiro each collected two hits for M and H Lumber Company. Lofton and Alomar were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for M and H Lumber Company. M and H Lumber Company didn't commit a single error in the field. Rodriguez had the most chances in the field with nine.
Craig Biggio went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Kelly Leak Allstars in hits. Kelly Leak Allstars were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jim Leyritz had the most chances in the field with eight.
