M and H Lumber Company Come Up Short Against Kelly Leak Allstars in Rubber Game of Series

M and H Lumber Company could not keep up with Kelly Leak Allstars 8-3 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746.

Kelly Leak Allstars got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Andruw Jones doubled, scoring two runs, and Carlos Hernandez singled, scoring one run.

Kelly Leak Allstars extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to home runs by Jim Leyritz and Scott Brosius.

M and H Lumber Company made the score 6-2 in the top of the fifth inning when Vinny Castilla hit a solo home run to center field, and Ivan Rodriguez singled, scoring one run.

Juan Encarnacion hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the seventh for the M and H Lumber Company.

Kelly Leak Allstars scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth on a home run to center field by Eric Davis.

Darren Dreifort earned the win for Kelly Leak Allstars. The starter gave up five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two. Jamie Moyer took the loss for M and H Lumber Company. The left-handed pitcher went seven innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on 10 hits, striking out four and walking one. Matt Mantei earned the save.

Encarnacion, Nomar Garciaparra, Castilla, Rodriguez, Paul O'Neill, and Bernie Williams each collected one hit for M and H Lumber Company. Encarnacion, Castilla, and Rodriguez each drove in one run for M and H Lumber Company. M and H Lumber Company turned one double play in the game.

Kelly Leak Allstars amassed 12 hits in the game. Manny Ramirez went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Kelly Leak Allstars in hits. Jones, Davis, and Leyritz each drove in two runs for Kelly Leak Allstars. Brosius collected two hits for Kelly Leak Allstars in four at bats. Kelly Leak Allstars turned one double play in the game. Kelly Leak Allstars were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hernandez had the most chances in the field with six.
