M and H Lumber Company Defeat Yesterday’s Knights to Claim Season Series.



M and H Lumber Company were victorious against Yesterday’s Knights 5-3 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746.


M and H Lumber Company were the first to get on the board in the second when Vlad Guerrero hit a solo home run to left field.


Yesterday’s Knights took the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third thanks to singles by Alex Rodriguez, and Larry Walker.


Yesterday’s Knights scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to right field by Walker.


M and H Lumber Company tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a single by Richie Sexson, and a tag up by Vinny Castilla.


M and H Lumber Company took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Castilla singled, scoring one run, to give M and H Lumber Company the lead, 4-3.


M and H Lumber Company scored one run in the bottom of the eighth on a solo home run to right field by Rafael Palmeiro.


Dustin Hermanson began the game for M and H Lumber Company. The righty allowed eight hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Kenny Rogers started the game for Yesterday’s Knights. The lefty surrendered five hits and three runs over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none. Dan Plesac, Trevor Hoffman, Jim Mecir, and Steve Reed each threw shutout innings for M and H Lumber Company in relief.


M and H Lumber Company piled up 10 hits in the game. Palmeiro drove the middle of the lineup, leading M and H Lumber Company with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-4 on the day. Castilla, Guerrero, and Roberto Alomar each collected two hits for M and H Lumber Company.


Walker drove the middle of the lineup, leading Yesterday’s Knights with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 3-for-3 on the day. Yesterday’s Knights were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jason Kendall had the most chances in the field with nine.
