Omar Vizquel Drives In 4 To Lead Kelly Leak Allstars Past Suffolk Suns for 9th Straight Win

Omar Vizquel drove in four runs on two hits to lead Kelly Leak Allstars past Suffolk Suns 6-2 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Vizquel hit a home run to right field in the seventh inning, scoring three runs, and tripled in the ninth inning, scoring one.

A solo home run to center field by Chipper Jones put Suffolk Suns on the board in the bottom of the first.

Eric Davis homered to left field, which helped Kelly Leak Allstars tie the game at one in the top of the second.

A double by Mike Stanley gave Kelly Leak Allstars the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth.

Vizquel homered to right field, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh for the Kelly Leak Allstars.

Suffolk Suns scored one run in the bottom of the ninth on a solo home run to center field by Jim Edmonds.

Greg Maddux earned the win for Kelly Leak Allstars. The starting pitcher allowed eight hits and two runs over nine innings, striking out five and walking none. David Wells took the loss for Suffolk Suns. The starter went seven innings, giving up five runs on eight hits, striking out eight and walking one.

Kelly Leak Allstars accumulated 10 hits in the game. Davis, Vizquel, and Carlos Hernandez each collected two hits for Kelly Leak Allstars. Kelly Leak Allstars didn't commit a single error in the field. Hernandez had the most chances in the field with five.
