Roger Clemens and Revised Lineup Leads M and H Lumber Company Past Yesterday’s Knights




Roger Clemens was dominant on the mound, as the hurler rang up 13 strikeouts in M and H Lumber Company's 9-2 victory over Yesterday’s Knights on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Clemens allowed six hits and two runs over nine innings while walking five.


M and H Lumber Company scored five runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Vinny Castilla doubled, scoring one run, Rafael Palmeiro doubled, scoring two runs, Vlad Guerrero doubled, scoring one run, and Juan Encarnacion tripled, scoring one run.


M and H Lumber Company opened the scoring in the first after Castilla hit a solo home run to center field.


Edgardo Alfonzo doubled to center field, which helped Yesterday’s Knights tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.


M and H Lumber Company took the lead in the top of the third. Roberto Alomar hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, to give M and H Lumber Company the lead, 2-1.


John Smoltz opened the game for Yesterday’s Knights. The right-handed pitcher allowed 14 hits and nine runs over nine innings, striking out 14 and walking one.


M and H Lumber Company collected 14 hits in the game. Castilla, Edgar Renteria, Greg Vaughn, Guerrero, and Alomar each collected two hits for M and H Lumber Company. Castilla, Palmeiro, and Guerrero each drove in two runs for M and H Lumber Company. M and H Lumber Company turned two double plays in the game. M and H Lumber Company didn't commit a single error in the field. Ivan Rodriguez had the most chances in the field with 14.


Alfonzo and Ellis Burks were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Yesterday’s Knights while hitting back-to-back. Alfonzo and Burks were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Yesterday’s Knights. Smoltz threw an immaculate inning in the seventh, striking out the side on nine pitches. Yesterday’s Knights turned one double play in the game. Yesterday’s Knights were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jason Kendall had the most chances in the field with 15.
