Yesterday’s Knights fell 5-0 to Suffolk Suns on Monday despite out-hitting them nine to six. John Olerud, Fernando Vina, and Richard Hidalgo each collected two hits for Yesterday’s Knights.
Suffolk Suns were the first to get on the board in the first when Barry Bonds hit a solo home run to left field.
Andy Ashby earned the win for Suffolk Suns. The hurler surrendered nine hits and zero runs over nine innings, striking out four and walking three. Matt Morris took the loss for Yesterday’s Knights. The righty went seven innings, surrendering two runs on four hits, striking out four and walking two.
Yesterday’s Knights piled up nine hits in the game. Morris threw an immaculate inning in the fourth, striking out the side on nine pitches. Yesterday’s Knights were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Olerud made the most plays with nine.
Jim Edmonds and Eric Karros were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Suffolk Suns while hitting back-to-back. Edmonds and Karros were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Suffolk Suns. Suffolk Suns turned three double plays in the game. Suffolk Suns were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Gary DiSarcina made the most plays with 10.
