Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Sledgehammers Victory Over Kelly Leak Allstars

Sledgehammers took Tuesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 5-2 walk-off victory over Kelly Leak Allstars at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the tenth when Ken Caminiti homered to center field, scoring three runs.

Kevin Brown struck out 10 batters on the day. The righty also allowed five hits and two runs over 10 innings while walking five.

Kelly Leak Allstars got on the board in the second inning after Manny Ramirez hit a solo home run to center field.

Jeff Bagwell singled to right field, which helped Sledgehammers tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.

A single by Bret Boone gave Sledgehammers the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fourth.

Eric Davis walked, which helped Kelly Leak Allstars tie the game at two in the top of the eighth.

Greg Maddux stepped on the mound first for Kelly Leak Allstars. The pitcher allowed 10 hits and two runs over eight innings, striking out eight and walking four.

Sledgehammers accumulated 11 hits in the game. Caminiti led Sledgehammers with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-5 on the day. Bagwell, Boone, and Ken Griffey Jr each collected two hits for Sledgehammers. Moises Alou paced Sledgehammers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Sledgehammers turned two double plays in the game.

Ramirez and Davis were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Kelly Leak Allstars. Leadoff hitter Omar Vizquel led Kelly Leak Allstars with two hits in five at bats. Maddux threw an immaculate inning in the second, striking out the side on nine pitches. Kelly Leak Allstars turned two double plays in the game. Kelly Leak Allstars were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jim Leyritz had the most chances in the field with nine.
