Yesterday’s Knights were victorious against Kelly Leak Allstars 6-2 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746.
Yesterday’s Knights were the first to get on the board in the second when Ellis Burks hit a solo home run to left field.
Edgardo Alfonzo hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the third for the Yesterday’s Knights.
Kelly Leak Allstars scored two runs in the top of the eighth on a home run to center field by Andruw Jones.
Matt Morris earned the win for Yesterday’s Knights. The righty allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking two. Kelvim Escobar took the loss for Kelly Leak Allstars. The hurler went seven innings, giving up six runs on eight hits, striking out seven and walking four. Turk Wendell collected the save.
Leadoff hitter Derek Jeter led Yesterday’s Knights with three hits in four at bats. Jason Giambi collected two hits for Yesterday’s Knights in four at bats. Yesterday’s Knights were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. John Olerud had the most chances in the field with 12.
Jones, the number eight hitter for Kelly Leak Allstars, led the way with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Scott Brosius, Jones, and Omar Vizquel each collected one hit for Kelly Leak Allstars. Kelly Leak Allstars turned two double plays in the game. Kelly Leak Allstars didn't commit a single error in the field. Mark McGwire had the most chances in the field with 10.
