Yesterday’s Knights Defeats Suffolk Suns On Back Of Clutch Display From Kevin Sefcik



Kevin Sefcik drove in four runs on four hits to lead Yesterday’s Knights past Suffolk Suns 6-0 on Tuesday at 5100 Long Island Expy, Dix Hills, NY 11746. Sefcik hit a home run to center field in the fourth scoring two, singled in the second scoring one, and singled in the eighth scoring one.


John Smoltz didn't allow a run. Though Suffolk Suns did collect three hits.


Yesterday’s Knights jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Jason Kendall doubled, scoring two runs, and Sefcik singled, scoring one run.


Sefcik homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Yesterday’s Knights.


David Wells took the loss for Suffolk Suns. The starter went three and one-third innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking none.


Yesterday’s Knights collected 14 hits in the game. Sefcik and Kendall were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected four hits for Yesterday’s Knights while hitting back-to-back. Gary Sheffield collected two hits for Yesterday’s Knights in five at bats. Yesterday’s Knights didn't commit a single error in the field. John Olerud had the most chances in the field with 13.


Ray Durham, Darryl Hamilton, and David Justice each collected one hit for Suffolk Suns.
